Losing someone dear to you is a devastating experience, especially if that person was of your own blood. In the recent unfolding of events relating to the late Kim Saeron (김새론), the popular Korean YouTube channel, The Garo Sero Research Institute also known as HoverLab (가로세로연구소), discloses a heartwrenching handwritten letter from the actress’ mother.
The channel is popularly known for unveiling political controversies and diving deep into Korea’s current affairs. However, it recently disclosed crucial evidence regarding Kim Saeron’s case, including the identity of the manager who leaked private audio recordings of the actress to YouTuber Lee Jinho (이진호). The letter reads:
“My beloved daughter Sae Ron, are you in a warm place? Are you no longer in pain? My headaches are unbearable every day, and my chest feels tight. Winter is ending, and warm spring is coming, but my frozen heart refuses to thaw. I can’t throw away any of your things — your clothes, your belongings. I still hold onto your pyjamas, unable to wash them because your scent remains on them”.
The letter goes on to mention Kim Saeron’s mother’s regrets of not being able to be with her daughter during her final moments, highlighting how she would tell her to avoid many things such as staying out late and posting pictures online as a means to protect her. She also points out the many people who attended Saeron’s funeral who truly knew and loved her as an individual.
Ending the letter, Kim Saeron’s mother expressed how she wants an apology for all the slanders as a way to prevent more similar cases from happening. She ends with, “People might not know the truth, but I know. The people who truly knew you know. I’m sorry, Sae Ron. I will try to let you go quietly now.”
The letter which was narrated by a voice actor hired by Garo Sero shows her mother’s deep sorrow for losing her daughter, which goes into detail about her regrets. Currently, it is reported that her family consisting of Kim Saeron’s two siblings and her mother are staying in a small house with her dog that the 24-year-old adopted. Her mother faces poor health conditions and struggles with mobility. Paintings by Kim Saeron were also kept which reflect her unstable emotional state.
Meanwhile, recent updates on the actress’ scandal with actor Kim Soohyun (김수현) reveal that major brands such as Prada, Jo Malone and Cuckoo China have suspended the actor from major promotional roles due to the allegations. Kim Soohyun have since filed criminal lawsuits for defamation against the family and Garo Sero regarding this issue.
