If there is ever an official or fan-run online event where K-pop fans can vote for their favourite idols, you can be sure they will take part, eager to see their biases climb to the top of the rankings. The TOP 100 KPOP is one of the more popular annual online polls, with rankings separated into several categories, including Most Handsome, Most Beautiful, Top Artist, Top Album and Top Song, among others.
The poll recently revealed the full Top 100 Female Idols list as voted by fans, with the announcement noting that the winner will receive a physical trophy. There were many strong contenders this year, but fans, particularly in Malaysia, were thrilled to learn that KIIRAS leader LingLing (링링/黃羚棱) had claimed the number one spot. Malaysian-born K-pop idol LingLing has officially been ranked number one on the Top 100 Female Idols list by TOP 100 KPOP. The singer, who is also the first Malaysian to be appointed leader of a K-pop group, beat major names — including all members of BLACKPINK and several members of BABYMONSTER — to secure the top spot. Following the announcement, Malaysian fans expressed their excitement, celebrating Ling Ling as the first idol to represent the country in a global online poll.
