It’s been a while since JYP Entertainment debuted a boy band. Their current active groups, Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈) and Day6 (데이식스), have achieved multiple milestones over the past few years, so it’s no surprise that a younger generation would want to follow in their footsteps.
That day has finally arrived, as the company’s latest boy band, KickFlip (킥플립) made their debut on 20th January! Before we enjoy more of their music, here are some fun facts you should know about the newly debuted boy group:
1. The group consist of 7 members

From the announcement poster last year, it was confirmed that KickFlip will debut with seven members, consisting of both Korean and Japanese members. Their names are KyeHoon (이계훈), JuWang (장주왕), MinJe (최민제), DongHwa (이동화), Amaru (満行亜丸), KeiJu (岡本 桂樹), and DongHyeon (이동현). 2. The members were selected from the LOUD survival show

Apart from traditional auditions and talent scouting, one way to seek new talent is by hosting a reality contest where young contestants can showcase their skills. 3. Member Kyehoon trained for 10 years before debut

It is unknown whether KickFlip was originally meant to debut with 8 members. Regardless, former trainee Yoon Min confirmed on Instagram that he had left JYP Entertainment last year. The reason for his departure remains unknown, but he still debuted as a solo artist in 2024 under his new agency, HowToUse.
