In the whirlwind world of K-pop, every new group’s debut is eagerly anticipated. Recently, BEAT INTERACTIVE, home to the popular group A.C.E (에이스), has been stirring up excitement with their new trainees under the name NEWBEAT (뉴비트). These fresh faces have already started making waves even before their official debut announcement.

Yesterday (Thursday, 20th June), NEWBEAT dropped a bombshell on social media, hinting at their anticipated debut with teasers that left fans buzzing. The group, known for their energetic presence, teased a new name, HinLOVE (힌로브), and launched their official Twitter account, instantly becoming a hot topic across platforms.

However, not everyone was cheering. A photo shared on their new Twitter account raised eyebrows and sparked a storm of discussion online. In their Twitter banner, the members were captured shirtless, holding lollipops, a seemingly innocent gesture that has since ignited concern among fans. Adding to that, the profile picture displayed, what appears to be, a pacifier, further fueling debates about the group’s image and concept.

In the K-pop universe, where images are meticulously crafted and scrutinised, the choice to go shirtless can be a double-edged sword, especially if any of the members are underage. Netizens took to Reddit to voice their worries, emphasising the importance of appropriateness and respecting the age of idols.

Despite the controversy, excitement for HinLOVE’s debut remains palpable. Many are eager to see how this new group will carve out their niche and captivate audiences. With their involvement in A.C.E’s music videos and recent US tour, HinLOVE has already begun making a name for themselves.
