We’ve heard many horror stories from people about their in-laws, like the woman who revealed that her mother-in-law spied on her and her husband during their intimate moments. Coming out of Taiwan, another woman shared a terrible experience with her mother-in-law, allegedly that she had slapped her over a petty reason.
The anonymous woman shared the story through a Facebook group where married women share stories about life with in-laws. According to the woman, the incident happened a few days ago when she helped to prepare lunch for her in-laws after taking her mother-in-law to the clinic. As she was about to leave, her mother-in-law suddenly stopped her and slapped her across the face. The woman was left stunned for a moment but was even more shocked when she asked why her mother-in-law had slapped her. It turns out that her father-in-law had praised her cooking, which angered her mother-in-law.
She went home and told her husband that his mother had slapped her. He rushed to his parents’ home, but when he came back, he apologised to her for not being able to protect her. The wife said she couldn’t bring herself to fight back after getting slapped because she was taught to respect her elders. The woman said she could only endure the pain at the time but felt fortunate that her husband took her side.
In a comment, the woman added that she and her husband were called back to her in-law’s house by her sister-in-law. Surprisingly, her mother was also present when she arrived and started fighting with her mother-in-law. The woman said she and her family managed to stop the fight before it got bad. However, when they left, the woman overheard the neighbours gossiping about the argument, which embarrassed her.
After sharing her story, netizens defended her and criticised her mother-in-law. Many had even wondered if the mother-in-law was mentally unstable for slapping her over a petty reason. Some even said she should’ve sued her mother-in-law for causing injury. Funnily, some joked that the dramatic incident sounds like a scene from a television drama.
It must have been traumatic for the woman to get slapped by her mother-in-law. Thankfully, she has a supportive husband and family to defend her.
