In January this year, sports-fashion retail company JD Sports opened its first outlet in Malaysia, located at Sunway Pyramid.
At that time, the brand, which retails branded sports fashion wear, and outdoor clothing and equipment, was already operating approximately 800 stores worldwide.
Now, it looks like JD Sports Malaysia aka the undisputed “King of Trainers” is ready to expand their presence.
The brand just released a teaser video on their Facebook page moments ago for something exciting that’s about to be unveiled. The 20-second video starts with a cryptic “8” and featured shots from the JD Sports Malaysia Sunway Pyramid outlet grand launch before ending with a not-so-cryptic:

“JD Sports is proud to announce the opening of its largest store in Southeast Asia. The store will be located at the all-new Pavilion Elite that will officially open its doors at the end of this month.
The new JD Sports store is set to open on 2nd December 2016,” a JD Sports Malaysia rep confirmed.
For those of you who are not in the know, Pavilion Elite is a new retail landmark project adjacent to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur which will feature over 70 brands across its 10-level retail podium.
With 30 years of experience in sports fashion retail, JD distributes the latest and best street style sports fashion brands to a global audience.
In addition to brands like Adidas Originals, Nike, New Balance, Converse, Lacoste, Fila, Timberland, EA7, The North Face, Supply & Demand and Asics, JD also distributes exclusive sneakers designed by leading designers specifically for the retailer.
Apart from sneakers, JD also carries an extensive range of sports fashion and street style clothing for men, women and children, comprising polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants and jackets.
That’s not all!
To mark the occasion, JD Sports will be holding a “#MYJDSTYLE Boomerang” contest on Instagram in search of two new recruits to TEAM JDMY. To participate, contestants must upload a Boomerang of themselves onto their Instagram profiles, showcasing their best kicks and own interpretation of “JD Style”, along with a caption that describes why they deserve to be a part of TEAM JDMY. Participants must also include the hashtag #MYJDSTYLE and #TEAMJDMY, and tag the JD Sports Malaysia official Instagram page (@jdsportsmy).
The winners of the competition will receive invites (2 invites: winner +1) to the official VIP launch of JD Pavilion as well as a RM500 cash voucher to spend in the new store.
