Legendary Japanese rock powerhouse GLAY has unleashed their highly anticipated 63rd single, “Dead Or Alive,” while also dropping the track’s fierce music video. This marks GLAY’s first new single in nearly two years, arriving right after their 30th debut anniversary.
The blistering new number, “Dead Or Alive”, was written specifically as the opening theme for the popular Netflix anime series, “Record of Ragnarok III”. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Japan LLC and will be exclusively available for worldwide streaming starting 10th December 2025 (Wednesday).

The creation of the song began with TAKURO’s simple desire to pursue rock music with GLAY. The lyrics feature elements reflecting the world of the tie-up anime. With HISASHI’s sharp arrangement covering the entire track, this single is a powerful start to the band’s 31st year. “Dead Or Alive” is a heavy rock anthem composed and written by guitarist TAKURO. It features dramatic riffs, a foundation of heavy bass from JIRO, arrangement work by HISASHI and the commanding vocals of TERU.
TAKURO commented on crafting the song to match the anime’s intensity, saying, “We are extremely honoured to be in charge of the opening theme song for a work that has garnered immense popularity since its first season. We produced “Dead Or Alive” keeping in mind “Record of Ragnarok”’s magnificent story and the struggles of each character who cannot be judged by ‘justice’ alone. Furthermore, the song is a fusion of the world of thrilling action and the inherent intensity of rock music.”

Music video director Pierce Gabriel shared a comment about the accompanying visual, saying, “For this music video concept, which was built around shooting in New York City, I began by researching a wide range of rock band visuals set in major metropolitan cities. Among everything I explored, the performances that moved me most were The Beatles’ rooftop session in London and U2’s performance atop a Los Angeles building.”
