You might be surprised by how many celebrities didn’t end up pursuing the dreams they had when they first stepped into the spotlight. Some may have aspired to become actors but began their careers as models, while others started out as dancers with ambitions of becoming singers.
Regardless, once you’ve made a name for yourself in the industry, you gain the platform and connections to pursue your true passion. Actor Hun Haqeem is one such star. Since making his debut in 2019, he has appeared in various television and film roles. Beyond acting, however, Hun also has a deep passion for music, something he hopes to explore further.
Hun Haqeem began his career with a supporting role in the 2019 series Cari Aku Di Syurga. Today, he is recognised as one of the leading young actors in television and web series, having earned starring roles in “Nenek Bongkok Tiga”, “W: Two Worlds” and “Soloz: Game of Life”, among others. Not many people know this, but did you know that he is also a singer?
He made his singing debut during his appearance on the fourth season of “The Masked Singer” and, earlier this year, performed the theme song, “Untuk Semua Jiwa”, for his first film, “Soloz: Game of Life”. The 27-year-old has previously expressed a desire to explore music, and in a recent interview with Oh Bulan, he revealed how music has always been a part of his life, as well as his plans to pursue a career in the industry.
“Singing has always been a dream of mine, and music has played a huge part in my life. One of my siblings plays the guitar and was previously in a band. We would often play music at home and just jam together,” he said, adding that he also plays the guitar and that making music remains a daily family activity.
The young star also shared that the Indonesian band Radja was one of his main musical inspirations growing up. “Back in school, everyone shared their dreams, and I said I wanted to become a singer — probably because I was really into Radja at the time. My family would listen to their cassette in the car on the way to school. So when the teacher asked what I wanted to be, I answered that I wanted to be a singer,” he explained.
Hun Haqeem is reportedly planning to expand his music career by releasing a song of his own composition. We’re sure fans are excited to hear more music from the actor in the future. For now, let’s enjoy his first single, “Untuk Semua Jiwa”, below:
