Finally, we’re getting proper comment threads on Instagram!
In a blog post, Instagram wrote, “Today we’re making conversations about Instagram posts even easier by adding comment threads. Comment threads help you keep track of conversations and make it easy to respond to a specific thread. This update will make your feed an even better place to share interests, get inspired and connect with others.”
How does this work, you ask?
Just like its parent company (Facebook), replying to a comment on Instagram will begin a new thread, which will make the conversation easier to follow. All users have to do is hit reply underneath any comment and their response will automatically be grouped right underneath it in a thread.

As for when this new feature will arrive, according to Instagram, it’s expected to roll out as part of Instagram version 24 and above globally on Android and iOS “in the coming weeks”.
