Il Divo, the world’s leading classical crossover quartet, will be returning to Malaysia this year.
The pop opera group – consisting of members Carlos Marin (Spain), Urs Buhler (Switzerland), Sebastien Izambard (France) and David Miller (America) – will be making a pitstop on our local shores in October.
15 years ago, Il Divo was discovered and mentored by Simon Cowell. They were the first classical crossover band in history to reach the top of the US Billboard 200 list in 2005. Since then, the group has released a Christmas album, a Greatest Hits album, and 7 studio albums. They include “Il Divo” (2004), “Ancora” (2005), “Siempre” (2006), “The Promise” (2008), “Wicked Game” (2011), “A Musical Affair” (2013), and “Amor & Pasión” (2015).
In celebration of their 15th anniversary in the music business, Il Divo will be debuting their first album, “Timeless”, under music label Decca Gold/Universal Music this coming August. The 10-track record will feature a classic mix of favourite pop and traditional standards in 4 languages. Their first single, “Hola”, is a Spanish language version of Adele’s mega single, “Hello”.
