When your idol is in town for a concert, you will do anything to catch their performance. Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok (郭富城) recently held his “Amazing Kode World Tour Live in Malaysia 2023” concert, and seeing that it’s his first concert here after eight years, his fans were eager to catch his performance – even if it meant sacrificing business.
This hawker stall in Penang had closed its shop on a busy weekend so they could watch the legendary singer live. A customer who visited the noodle stall when it was closed shared an image of a cardboard sign on the closed booth which writes, “Appointment with Aaron Kwok. Rest for three days (23/6 – 25/6), business as usual on Tuesday (27/6)”.
According to a local news site, the noodle shop is open Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays being the shop’s day off. The noodle shop reportedly gets the most customers on Sunday, but the owner was willing to sacrifice sales to catch the concert.
After the sign went viral, many netizens couldn’t help but share their reaction. One netizen said the noodle shop owner is definitely a loyal fan, while another said the closure was worth it because “nothing is more important than seeing your idol”. Another netizen said the owner shouldn’t worry about closing their shop because they deserve to treat themselves.
