A journey to the future with Snoop, Stevie and Pharrell.
The video for Snoop Dogg‘s “California Roll” featuring Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams has finally arrived. Showcasing the Snoop’s latest tribute to his home state in an elaborate time-travel vignette, the track includes vocals from Pharrell which serves as the opener to Snoop’s 13th album, “Bush”.
The video opens with moviegoers packing up a Los Angeles movie theatre in 1946, with an art deco-styled poster advertising the song’s title. As the audience take their seats, a robot comes to live and introduces himself as the pilot who will be taking them on a journey into the future.
It also includes American actress Nia Long as one of the passengers who buckles in for the adventure’s rocky start, before things get smooth, real smooth. As the scenes shifts to a black background, the video shows Pharrell, dressed in a long robe, and Stevie on a gleaming pyramid to croon about the opportunities available in California.
Snoop then join in, driving a flying yellow convertible above the pyramid-studded Hollywood Hills. The easy going track flows along with the stunning visuals punctuated by Wonder’s distinctive harmonica lines.
