Hype’s Now Playing: Rihanna – Work (Explicit) Ft. Drake

Whoa, Rihanna!

Rihanna has dropped the music video for the first single off her album, “Anti“. Titled, “Work”, the tropical house track features Mr. Hotline Bling aka Drake himself. The song returns to Rihanna’s familiar theme of feeling taken advantage of in a relationship, while Drake in his verse raps of his struggle finding intimacy.

Rihanna Drake Work

But there was clearly no struggle finding intimacy in the music video, no siree. In fact, Rihanna definitely knew how to “work” it for the music video.

The 28-year-old artiste’s 2-part music video is set in a club called, “The Real Jerk”, and that’s where we see Rihanna and Drake dance with each other. Well, more of Rihanna dancing on Drake more than anything else, really. Be prepared for a lot of hips and butts moving in amazing ways.

The second part takes us from the club to some pink-tinged room (with colours that will remind you of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”) where Rihanna and Drake can be seen getting a little bit more intimate. RiRi also has her hair down ala “Pon de Replay” and may we note that she might as well be topless.

Tim Erem, the Swedish-born director who directed the second part of “Work”, told The FADER that his section of the video was part of a bigger, original concept that has since been repurposed for another video project with Rihanna. He also spoke about Drake and Rihanna’s natural chemistry, and why those blues and pinks look so good on camera.

“They’re really good friends and everything felt so natural. It felt really good. I don’t think this would have been as good with someone else. I’m not going to name names, but this is a perfect match. The track, the video, and everything. It was really intimate and that’s what I think makes the video so good: their whole chemistry, which is just so authentic. They’re two really close friends who are really f*cking good performers,” Tim said.

This is not the first time that Rihanna and Drake are working together. The pair have appeared together previously in the music videos for Drake’s “Take Care” and Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?”. But this could possibly be their sexiest collaboration to date.
