It’s the week of celebration as Malaysia Day is right around the corner. As a result, well-known and ever-popular restaurants have introduced new food and beverage offerings with a local twist, such as Family Mart’s Musang King Sofuto or Foodpanda’s selection of local snacks.

That is why Hype is here to provide you with a variety of culinary options to enjoy this week. Treat your friends and family to delectable cuisines and enjoy the culinary experience together.

1. Musang King Sofuto

Location: Available in Family Mart stores

Not sure what to buy at Family Mart? Try the creamy, mushy durian-flavoured Sofuto! On this Malaysia day, you can have a taste of the rich and aromatic King of Fruits all the way from Raub and Batu Pahat. It’s only available for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

Following the recent launch, Kenny Hills Bistro introduces European classics, freshly baked goods and exclusive menu items that are not available anywhere else. Try the Beef-Fat Brioche and Wild Mushrooms and Burrata or the specials, Lobster and Scallop Risotto and Seared Foie Gras, for lunch and dinner. If you enjoy the aroma and warmth of freshly baked bread, Noon Viennoiserie is the place to be! A welcoming environment where you can share pastries, coffee, and conversations. This is no ordinary café, either, as there is a rooftop bar open from 6pm that serves Kombucha alongside your cakes and pastries.

Take a look at this American-themed restaurant! With portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, and Martin Luther King Jr., there’s no doubt that this restaurant will give you an authentic American experience. This family-friendly American diner-inspired eatery serves an incredible selection of deep-fried burgers, including the Monster Buffalo Chicken Burger.

IKEA is back at it again with their adorable aquatic animals-inspired delicacies! Their recent addition to the menu, and for a limited time only, is the turtle-shaped buns with red bean fillings. From 5th September onwards, you can find the cute green creatures at all IKEA stores nationwide. Try it out before it’s too late!

6. Foodpanda’s Merdeka and Malaysia Day Local Delicacies

Foodpanda aims to evoke nostalgic memories with Malysia’s very own mouth-watering delicacies such as Karipap, Onde-onde, Cucur Badak, Pulut Panggang, Keledek Goreng, and Kek Sarang Semut, which are specially prepared by their own HomeChefs. Participate in the initiative and help our aspiring chefs do what they love.

7. Nando’s Feed Your Fire Launch: A Feast For The Senses

Discover Nando’s South African roots with great food and amazing vibes! Nando’s did not disappoint with their bottomless beverages, filling PERI-PERI meals, breathtaking South African artwork, and Afro-Luso beats as they hosted their feast for all five senses. Guests had the opportunity to ignite their fiery spirits while also learning about the history and culture of Nando’s.

8. 7CAFé by 7-Eleven Introduces Local Infused Menu

In the spirit of Malaysia Day, 7CAFé is introducing their all-new local infused menu! Visit your nearest 7CAFé by 7-Eleven outlet and treat yourself with a Char Kuey Teow with Prawns and Eggs for only RM7.90 or a Nasi Lemak Level Up with Kam Heong Chicken and Pachadi for RM10.90. You can even try out their desserts like the Sambal Chicky Croffle and Pandan Gula Melaka Swiss Roll.

9. Taco Bell Malaysia’s New Quesarito

Burrito fans, rejoice! Taco Bell is introducing a brand-new menu item called the Quesarito (pronounced as Keh-Sa-Ri-Toh). This popular dish combines the quesadilla and the burrito, which are filled with seasoned meat, signature Mexican rice, nacho cheese sauce, and sour cream before being wrapped in a grilled tortilla with melted cheese.
