Many Hong Kong stars continue to choose Malaysia as their favourite holiday destination, thanks to the food and culture. Recently, actress and singer Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) shared Christmas wishes from her holiday in Penang.
The star recently shared a post on Instagram on Christmas Day, writing, “Chillin’ in a super hot spot for Xmas right now! Merry Christmas, everyone!” Along with the captions, Miriam shared a photo of her posing in front of a white, British colonial-style building. The singer even dressed for the weather, with a simple black dress over a white tee, paired with black sunglasses and a bag.
However, Miriam shared no details or hints of her location in her post. Despite that, many eagle-eyed netizens recognised the building behind her as the iconic Eastern & Oriental Hotel in George Town, Penang. As such, many fans welcomed her to Penang and wished her an enjoyable stay in Malaysia.
Miriam’s husband, singer Real Ting (丁子高), further confirmed their stay in Penang with an Instagram Stories post of Miriam. The photo shows the 51-year-old posing in front of a mural by the Penang Hill Lower Station. Penang Global Tourism also took note of Miriam and Real’s visit, sharing the news on its Facebook page.
In the post, the tourism bureau writes, “From the familiar streets to the unmistakable tropical charm, the clues were all there. This Christmas, it seems Penang has once again captured hearts – even among celebrities.” The post continues, “The Penang Global Tourism warmly welcomes Miriam Yeung and wishes her a wonderful stay in Penang.”
While we’re unsure how long Miriam and Real will be in Penang, we hope they enjoy their time here in Malaysia. Perhaps we’ll see more photos from their holiday in the future.
