Another TVB star has bid farewell to the Hong Kong broadcasting station. Actress Nancy Wu (胡定欣) recently announced her departure from TVB, marking the end of a partnership spanning over two decades.
On 4th February 2026 (Wednesday), Nancy shared the news through her Instagram account, writing, “In the new year, I’ve decided to leave my comfort zone and explore the world. I look forward to new attempts, new creations and new sparks.” The star then proceeds to thank her managers and colleagues at TVB and Shaw Brothers for their support throughout the years.
Nancy started her career at TVB in 1999, finishing in fourth place in TVB’s Annual New Talent Singing Awards competition. In 2001, she joined TVB’s Annual Cover Girl Competition and emerged as the overall winner. She then later joined the broadcaster’s 18th Artist Training Class and subsequently entered the entertainment industry.
The actress’s early appearances were mostly cameos and minor character roles. Her first supporting roles came in “Triumph of the Skies” and “Twin of Brothers”. Nancy reached a career peak in 2015, when she played Keung Yong in “Ghost Of Relativity”, which earned her the coveted TVB Best Actress Award. She retained the title in 2016, making her a two-time winner.

In recent years, Nancy also received widespread attention for her private life. In 2025, the star announced her marriage to Dr Akin Chan after a couple of years of dating. Nancy’s fans and fellow acting colleagues have reacted to her departure, wishing her the best in her new journey. Stars like Joel Chan and Myolie Wu have expressed support for the actress.
We also wish the best for Nancy as she begins a new start in her personal and professional endeavours. She recently announced a new concert in April, marking her first schedule after her departure.
