It’s double the congratulations for Hong Kong actor Matthew Ko (高鈞賢)! The former Mr Hong Kong recently announced his marriage to his non-celebrity girlfriend, and the couple is also expecting their first child in early 2025!
Matthew announced his marriage and his wife’s pregnancy on 2nd December 2024 (Monday). The former TVB actor has previously hinted at the good news when he appeared at an event in November wearing a wedding ring. The 40-year-old shared with news outlets about his marriage, saying, “I proposed to her (his wife) in Hong Kong, and we travelled to Maldives to take wedding photos before flying to Canada to register our marriage.”
According to reports, Matthew’s wife is a non-celebrity 10 years younger than the actor. There were rumours the couple was expecting after the two shared a photo with Matthew’s wife sporting a bulging belly. The actor has revealed the expected due date and the baby’s gender, saying his “little dragon girl” will be born in early January. He also shared that his daughter will be named “Liona”.
Matthew started his career winning the first Mr Hong Kong pageant in 2005. While under contract with TVB, the actor appeared in various shows, including ‘Can’t Buy Me Love (公主嫁到)” and “Sergeant Tabloid (女警爱作战)”. After his contract with TVB ended in 2014, the star expanded his career in China. As for his private life, Matthew has expressed his long desire to be married and start a family, saying he wants to be a great husband and father to his wife and daughter.
