We’re not gonna lie, Zac Efron’s Troy Bolton and Vanessa Hudgens’ Gabriella Montez are our favourite teen couple of all time. So when Disney announced that “High School Musical 4” is in the works without them, we were super bummed out.
While we know that the new movie will focus on the cousin of Sharpay and Ryan Evans (played by Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel respectively), it doesn’t stop us from wondering what would happen if the original crew got back together.

If you’re curious to know about their future, there’s a fanmade trailer circling around the interweb and it takes place 10 years after the original characters’ graduation from high school.
Titled “Once A Wildcat”, the clip, which features Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel’s cover of “What I’ve Been Looking For”, shows Troy and Gabriella leading separate lives. “I just can’t. I can’t stop thinking about what she’s doing,” Troy tells Sharpay, who seems to be working alongside Chad Danforth (played by Corbin Bleu). In another scene, Gabriella also seems to have trouble moving on from her high school sweetheart. She can be heard saying, “I mean, I don’t need to settle. It’s not like I’m 30.
Meanwhile, Ryan talks about getting married early. “Sorta took the fast track to the whole marriage and kids thing,” he says in the clip.
Although the trailer is a little bleak, we’re glad to see them together again.
