Fans are left devastated after ENHYPEN (엔하이픈) member Heeseung (희승) suddenly announced his departure from the group. The news came amid the group’s ongoing promotion for their latest comeback, “Knife”.
BELIFT LAB shared the news on 10th March 2026 (Tuesday) via ENHYPEN’s official social media pages. In the announcement, the agency explained that Heeseung is parting ways with the group to pursue a solo career. Meanwhile, the rest of the group will continue official activities as a six-member group. BELIFT LAB further notes that the decision comes after extensive deliberation and discussion between the agency and the ENHYPEN members.
Following the announcement, Heeseung took to Weverse to share a handwritten letter to the ENGENEs (ENHYPEN fans). In his letter, the idol mentioned working on his solo projects and decided to depart from the group to follow the direction his agency suggested for his solo career. He also expressed gratitude towards the fans for their love throughout the years, asking for their continued support in the future.
The announcement and Heeseung’s letter sparked heated reactions throughout the fandom, with many expressing disbelief in the news. Fans particularly debate why the ENHYPEN leader isn’t allowed to pursue a solo career while still in the group, as with many other K-pop idols. Others also questioned whether Heeseung was pressured to leave ENHYPEN, given his explanation in his letter.
Many fans also debated the odd timing of the announcement, given how ENHYPEN is currently promoting their latest album. Some also pointed out that ENHYPEN would go through contract negotiations sometime later this year or 2027. The ENGENEs argued that if Heeseung had plans to leave the group, he could’ve done so after the group’s exclusive contract ended to avoid contract termination issues.
