In recent times, social media has been flooded with news of people getting hitched here and there. Despite the increasing number of daily Covid-19 cases in our country, this doesn’t stop people from organising wedding ceremonies, as long as they still comply with the current standard operating procedures (SOPs).

However, we can also see that more and more people around us have been infected with the Omicron variant, halting all scheduled plans. Just like this one groom, who had to attend his bersanding ceremony alone without his wife around, as the latter had unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19.

“The bride tested positive (for Covid-19), so the groom had to ‘marry a laptop’,” TikTok user @kakleeha wrote in her video. The viral video shows the man sitting alone on his bridal dais, accompanied by a laptop next to him. It appears that his wife wasn’t able to be present during her wedding day as she’s currently undergoing self-quarantine. Instead, she had to attend the ceremony online!

In the same video, we can also spot the wedding guests and the photographer capturing photos and videos of the newlyweds. Regardless of the unwanted circumstance, it’s safe to say that the event went smoothly as planned. @kakleeha’s posting has since gone viral on TikTok, amassing up to 1.2 million views at the time of writing (Tuesday, 1st March).

We hope it’s not too late to say congratulations to the newlyweds! Wishing both the groom and the bride lots of love and happiness.
