SM Entertainment Japan is entering a new era with the debut of its first Japanese girl group, GPP, an eight-member act set to redefine J-Pop. The group will launch with a pre-release digital single, “Bring it Back,” on 16th December 2025, followed by their major debut single on 14th January 2026. Their name, short for “Genkai toppa” (Limit Break) and “Paper Plane,” symbolises resilience and the will to soar beyond limits, a reflection of their ambition to take Japanese pop to the global stage.
With an average age of 21, the members come from diverse backgrounds, including dance, acting, and modelling, and have completed 18 months of intensive K-pop–style training. Backed by top creators, GPP embody determination and artistry, positioning themselves as a “limit-breaking” force in the next generation of J-Pop. Let’s get to know the girls of GPP!
1. Mika
