2018 is looking pretty spectacular for Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼).
The Hong Kong pop star (from the Canto-pop duo Twins along with Charlene Choi) recently took to her Instagram account to announce that she was engaged. This comes after Gillian’s whirlwind romance with Michael Lai made headlines a few months ago.
The 37-year-old singer posted a photo of her diamond engagement ring, with the caption, “Next station, Happiness”, in Chinese. She also tagged her fiance. In her Weibo account, Gillian also expressed that “this is the best birthday present for me. Thank you for your love“.
For those that don’t know, Michael is a 32-year-old Taiwanese doctor. The hunky man practised as an obstetrics and gynaecology physician before moving on to specialise in the cosmetics and healthcare line. Known as the “Sunny Wang of the Medical World”, Michael currently works at beauty clinic Beaute J’adore.
The couple’s romance first blossomed when Gillian was in Taipei filming her web drama titled “Tree In The River”. This will mark Gillian’s first marriage. On the other hand, Michael was previously married to Ivy Chao. However, their marriage was short-lived as they parted ways 6 months later.
Since the news broke, fans have been flooding Gillian’s social media with congratulatory messages.
