Itching for a holiday in the open sea? Then step into the Genting Dream and simply dream away. We’re going to bring you on a vacation far away from the distractions of everyday life.

Genting Hong Kong’s new Asian luxury cruise line, Dream Cruises, is set to tap into the Asian upper-middle class market when its inaugural ship, the Genting Dream, makes its debut in Singapore on 4th November 2016.

“Dream Cruises offers inspirational luxury, which is Asian at heart and international in spirit. Genting Dream is designed to meet the large and ever growing demand for inspired vacation experiences from discerning guests across the Asia region. We aim to deliver an unforgettable vacation experience and a transformational journey at sea for our confident, independently-minded, affluent Asian traveller,” said Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises.

“We are delighted to introduce and launch Genting Dream in Malaysia, featuring exciting and highly-acclaimed Asian destinations as repositioning cruise ports-of-call including Singapore, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong,” he added in a press statement.

As aforementioned, Genting Dream will arrive in Singapore later this year with its maiden cruise itinerary with a 2-night High Seas cruise, followed by a 6-night cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong (while traveling through Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Da Nang). But more on that later.

Here are some cool fun facts about the fabulous Genting Dream:

1. She was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

2. She is among the largest and most spacious vessel of its kind in Asia, with a gross tonnage of 151,300 grt.

3. The cruise ship, measuring up to 335 metres in length and 40 metres in width, has a total of 18 decks.

4. It can accommodate approximately 3,400 guests, and is attended by 2000 strong crew.

5. A planned ratio of 1 crew member to every 1.7 guests forms the highest crew to guest ratio in Asia-based cruising.

6. The art piece above was designed for Genting Dream by Chinese pop-artist Jacky Tsai and it’s titled “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream”.

7. Combining the essence of Chinese culture and the popular elements of western art in “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream”, Tsai’s unique art work is based on a love story between a mermaid and an astronaut set in an ethereal and fantasy world.

“Jacky’s ‘East-meets-West’ artistic aesthetic and vivid, dream-inspired, creative work, embodying the boundless, elements of space and water, has been brilliantly translated to the ‘canvas’ of our ship in a highly transformative way,” Brown remarked.

8. There are 1,674 staterooms onboard with 70% of staterooms containing private balconies and 100 connecting rooms catering to families and groups.

9. Foodies will delight in over 35 restaurant and bar concepts that offer a wide array of regional cuisines from across Asia as well international offerings.

10. A multitude of themed venues include a 610-metre wraparound promenade which allow dramatic sea-side dining and lounging from sunrise-to-sunset.

11. The Bar 360 covers 3 floors that allows passengers to enjoy aerial acrobatic performances. Wouldn’t you like to see an angel gracefully coming down on a silk?

12. In the mood for a love story? Zodiac Theatre brings to live the tale of Tsai’s “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream” where a mermaid ends up falling in love with an astronaut.

13. This bowling centre is rather different from the usual in the sense that the worst bowler will be awarded the winner. In case you’re thinking of cheating, gutter ball counts as a point.

14. Aside from the pools, there are 6 impressive water slides to past time.

15. 2 submersibles are available for those who wish to explore what’s underneath the vast ocean. Maybe even throw in a proposal during the 45 – 60 minutes duration?

16. Wanna party the night away? They have a Zouk Club onboard y’all! Lovebirds who would like to spend some romantic time together can opt to hang out at the Zouk Beach Club instead.

17. Last but not least, wouldn’t it be awesome to experience live fireworks in the middle of the ocean, under the moon and stars? Now that is something that should be on your bucket list.
