It’s a time of transformation and renewal as we glide into the Year of the Snake and prepare to embrace a season of abundance, prosperity, and limitless possibilities. Just like the graceful Chinese zodiac’s remarkable ability to shed its skin, let’s open ourselves to new beginnings as we unlock doors to fortune, prosperity, and boundless opportunity

No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without the reunion dinner – including the annual Yee Sang toss and a grand feast over a sumptuous banquet with loved ones. If you’re looking to dine in elegance and savor exquisite flavors in a setting befitting this auspicious occasion, here’s a list of our recommendations around town.

YEN Restaurant, W Kuala Lumpur

Under the guidance of Chef Tan Kim Weng, YEN blends authentic flavors with a contemporary flair, delivering a state-of-the-art take on traditional Chinese New Year fare.

Chef Weng’s expertise shines through an array of signature dishes crafted with inventive sustainable techniques such as the Roasted Chicken with Lin Seed, Wok-Fried Beetroot Rice with Prawns and Crab Meat enhanced with crispy rock rice for added texture and Steamed Tiger Grouper fish with succulent clams, sweet basil in authentic Teo Chew Style all delicately steamed to preserve natural flavors.

The spirit of togetherness comes alive with exquisitely prepared Reunion Set Menus, ensuring an intimate gathering filled with gastronomic delights, which includes:

  • Treasured Flavour RM208+ per person (minimum 2 persons, available for lunch only).
  • Prosperous Life Forever: RM318+ per person (minimum 4 persons, not available for Chinese New Year Eve dinner).
  • The Noble: RM368+ per person (minimum 4 persons).
  • Double Happiness: RM488+ per person (minimum 2 persons).

For larger celebrations, these family-style menus deliver a feast to remember:

  • Lucky 8 Reunion RM1,488+ (5 persons) / RM2,888+ (10 persons).
  • LoHei Feast RM1,888+ (5 persons) / RM3,688+ (10 persons).

YEN is also extending its offerings to the hotel’s iconic Great Room, presenting a grand dining menu. Guests can enjoy an expansive selection of dishes, from Norwegian Salmon Fish Yee Sang to Wok-Fried Prawns in Fragrant Beijing Chili Sauce, all crafted with finesse and flavor.

Upon the completion of Scales of Fortune, YEN will undergo an exciting transformation with a fresh new look of reflective nostalgia, blending the rich cultural essence of Chinese dynasty with a modern twist. The transformation will reconcile the past with the future, taking us back to the times of honoring China’s heritage. All the while incorporating modern design elements which will allow the restaurant to continue with its elevated version of classic Chinese dishes as well as to continue to fuel the imagination of diners and fans of W while segueing into a stunning transformation. .
