This Merdeka, Pocky is serving up more than just snacks. It’s bringing Malaysia’s favourite flavours to life with two limited-edition releases, Pocky Durian and Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh, alongside a vibrant mural that celebrates the spirit of unity and heritage.
A Bite of Malaysia in Every Stick
Made with real, natural ingredients, the new flavours are bold tributes to local favourites.
- Pocky Durian: a creamy durian-chocolate coating that honours the King of Fruits.
- Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh: pandan chocolate sprinkled with real desiccated coconut, wrapped around a palm sugar–flavoured biscuit stick for that familiar kuih nostalgia.
These festive packs don’t just taste good – they look good too, featuring Peranakan-inspired packaging that reflects Malaysia’s colourful cultural tapestry.
Art Meets Flavour
To mark the launch, Glico Malaysia teamed up with Penang-born street artist Abdulrashade to create the “Share the Taste of Heritage” mural at Jalan Doraisamy, Chow Kit. Just steps from Heritage Row, the mural blends Peranakan motifs with youthful touches like skateboarding and photography, making it a lively ode to Malaysian diversity and creativity.
“As a Malaysian street artist, I wanted to create something personal and unifying,” said Abdulrashade, who grew up surrounded by Peranakan culture and durian plantations. “The mural is about youth, heritage, and the little things that connect us.”
Celebrate Merdeka the Malaysian Way
Pocky’s new campaign isn’t just about snacks – it’s about sharing what makes us Malaysian. This Merdeka, why not:
- Dust off your congkak or batu seremban set for some old-school fun.
- Dress up in your baju kurung, kebaya, cheongsam or kurta to embrace cultural pride.
- Catch up with your neighbour over teh tarik or kopi – because sharing goes beyond hashtags.
Strike a pose with the mural, pick up your box of Pocky Durian or Ondeh-Ondeh (RM3.40 each at major supermarkets, convenience stores, or Shopee), and share your Merdeka happiness with the world.
