We have a lot to look forward to in 2025, including concerts, horror films, and TV series that will soon hit our shores later this year. However, if you’re looking for something more family-friendly, we’ve got that covered too.

Whether you’re a fan of Disney, Pixar, Sony, Warner Bros., or even anime, this year is full of amazing upcoming releases that will surely keep you and your loved ones entertained. In order of release date, here are some of the animated feature films you should look forward to:

1. Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing (17th January)

If you are a fan of the iconic vocaloid Hatsune Miku then this should be on your ‘To Watch’ list. While we can’t really confirm if this particular film will reach our cinemas, it’s still worth mentioning. “Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing” is an original story featuring original characters as well as virtual singers.

2. The Colors Within (24th January 2025)

While we can’t really confirm if this particular film will reach our cinemas, it’s still worth mentioning. From the same director who brought you “A SILENT VOICE” and “K-ON!”, “The Colors Within” is an anime film adapted from the popular manga series of the same name. The story revolves around Totsuko,  a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colours’ of others.

3. Dog Man (31st January)

Based on Dav Pilkey’s series of children’s books, “Dog Man” introduces a spin-off character from the Captain Underpants books. The synopsis reads: “When a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured together on the job, a harebrained but life-saving surgery fuses the two of them together, and Dog Man is born. Dog Man is sworn to protect and serve—and fetch, sit, and roll over.”

4. Doraemon: Nobita’s Art World Tales (7th March)

It’s always a fun adventure when Doraemon is by your side! “Doraemon: Nobita’s Art World Tales” is set in the magnificent world of medieval Europe depicted in paintings. The iconic blue cat character and his friends jump into the “world of the painting” joined by Claire and her friends Milo and Chai as they embark on a great adventure!

5. Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback (18th April)

This year, fans will be celebrating the 31st Anniversary of the “Detective Conan” series. The upcoming “Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback” is the franchise’s 28th film. The plot explores Conan’s past and its connection to his current case, offering fans a rare look at the personal struggles and triumphs that shaped his career.

6. Elio (13th June)

From the studio that brought you “Inside Out 2”. “Elio” follows an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solis who accidentally becomes the intergalactic Ambassador of planet Earth after being beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens for making contact. He must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms and navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions.

7. The Bad Guys 2 (1st August)

The bad guys are back! After the events of the first film, the Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do “one last job” by an all-female squad of criminals called the Bad Girls who are fans of their earlier exploits.

8. Zootopia 2 (26th November)

Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde must go undercover in Marsh Market to crack the case when they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile.

9. The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (19th December)

There’s always something going on with Spongebob and his friends. The “SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” film follows the iconic yellow square sea sponge, as he travels to the depths of the ocean to face off against the Flying Dutchman.

10. Ejen Ali Movie 2 (TBA)

Sadly, no official date has been announced for Ejen Ali Movie 2, but it has been confirmed that this local animated film will be coming to the big screen later this year. Be sure to keep an eye out for the official date announcement!
