With G-DRAGON (지드래곤) making a comeback and releasing new music for everyone to enjoy, the world is looking at the Korean star to see what he has in store for the coming year. As it turns out, the music icon is partnering with renowned director Kim Tae-Ho (김태호), known for producing the famous “Infinite Challenge”, for a new variety show!
According to reports, the show, tentatively named “GD and Friends”, will air on the MBC broadcasting station sometime next year. So, what can we look forward to on this show? With a star-studded lineup, sure to bring the audience the entertainment they crave, here is a list of people who we might expect to see onscreen.
1. Jung Hyung-Don (정형돈)
Jung Hyung-Don (정형돈) and G-DRAGON formed the beloved duo, “Hyong Yong Don Jyong (형용돈죵)” on the “Infinite Challenge Song Festival”. The entertaining pair last graced screens over a decade ago, but the world might have the chance to watch the comedian and singer pair interact once again as Jung Hyung-Don is rumoured to be one of the guests on GD’s new show.
2. Jung Hae-In (정해인)
It may surprise many but Jung Hae-In (정해인) and G-DRAGON are both of the same age, having been born in 1988. Their first meeting also happened to be during a variety show called “You Quiz on the Block”, where “Snowdrop” star reportedly connected with G-DRAGON over their age. Now, they’ll finally be on screen together for this new show are are prepared to delight fans with their collaboration.
3. Im Si-Wan (임시완)
The talented actor and singer, Im Si-Wan (임시완), happens to be close friends with Jung Hae-In and is also rumoured to be joining “GD and Friends”. Following the reports, fans worldwide express excitement, looking forward to seeing how the three celebrities’ dynamic might develop throughout the show.
4. Hwang Jung-Min (황정민)
Hwang Jung-Min (황정민) is an award-winning actor who recently won the “Blue Dragon Film Award” for “Best Actor”. The “You Are My Sunshine” star is also one of the reported guests for the G-DRAGON’s new show. As he has previously mentioned he is a big GD fan, so it’ll be great to see him interact with the idol in the new show!
5. Kim Soo-Hyun (김수현)
Kim Soo-Hyun (김수현) has captured hearts all across the world, having starred in numerous K-dramas including “My Love From Another Star” and most recently 2024’s “Queen of Tears”. This actor is known for iconic roles and stunning performances, but what he isn’t known for though, is appearing on variety shows. After reports of his possible appearance on G-DRAGON’s new show, which is what makes this possible appearance so much more exciting for everyone!
6. Kim Go-Eun (김고은)
Known for arguably one of the most iconic K-dramas of all time, “Goblin” actress Kim Go-Eun (김고은) has raised expectations after being announced as a guest for “GD and Friends”. Fans have already expressed excitement to see what kind of relationship will play out on screen, and how the two stars will interact with each other.
7. Cho Sae-Ho (조세호)
Yet another comedian that G-DRAGON met on “Infinite Challenge” is Cho Sae-Ho (조세호). The funny man is also said to be making an appearance in the idol’s new variety show, raising interest in the programme. It’s well-known that the pair are close friends, having met through the new show’s director Kim Tae-Ho, so many are eager to see their chemistry.
8-9. Taeyang (태양) and Daesung (대성)
Of course, a show by G-DRAGON wouldn’t be complete with Taeyang (태양) and Daesung (대성), the other bandmates that make up the iconic BIGBANG. The two idols are also rumoured to make appearances on the show, and since they recently had a surprise reunion performance together, many are excited to see the trio together on screen.
