It’s another 4 more mythical Instagram pulls, creators whose creativity cannot be stopped by a tourniquet. Creativity so intense, it’s stained their hair, in their nails, and running down their legs – it is everywhere!

Just like last time, they are all proud Malaysians who are making waves and turning heads. Whether the work with light, sound, shapes, or laughter, there’s a little something for everyone. Check out these talented locals:

1. Aidan Tan (aidan.at)

Aidan seems to be capable of slicing a pristine sample of reality and all the emotion and weight with it. Calling himself a “Image-Maker + Stills Lighting Director“, which you can tell from the resulting images.

Whether it’s glam-infused fashion photography, moody landscapes, or picturesque still-life, Aidan has command over the dark (or, rather “bright”) art of lighting. The only reason for not arresting anyone making things this drop-dead gorgeous is that his weapon of choice is one of that bends light and time into art.

2. Harry Kok Siew Yok (harrykoksiewyok)

Good humour needs a good delivery, but not “delivery” for makan wan stooped! Harry, who hails from Taman Konek, is a charming doll resembling the stereotypical middle-aged Malaysian uncle, with all the mannerisms and “slang” to boot.

Harry is effortlessly relatable and hilarious, it is no exaggeration that this is the brilliant Malaysian sense of humour that many people don’t know is missing in their lives. His skits range from interviewing random pedestrians to two uncles having an argument with each other over the phone, with the occasional classroom spelling lesson.

Art takes many forms, from the streets to museums, with beauty evident in ceramic sculptures. James explores a wide range of styles, reinterpreting both geometry and the human figure. His work transcends space and time, as he boldly addresses important issues and conveys messages that advocate for humanity.

Being a seasoned artist, James Seet represented Malaysia at the South East Asian Ceramic Festival in the Philippines and Washington DC, USA, and showcased his work at FLICAM in Fuping, China, through a grant from the Malaysian Ministry of Culture. His works are permanently housed in A’lcora, Spain, and the Shaw International Centre for Contemporary Ceramics, Canada.

4. Belle Sisoski (bellesisoski)

A sonic phenomenon combining ethnic instruments, cinematic music, and electronic elements, Belle Sisoski is a rising Malaysian singer-songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist, captivating audiences with her unique fusion sound. Hailing from Sabah, the sounds of traditional Southeast Asian instruments, like the sape, enter into grand, cinematic soundscapes, melding and morphing with contemporary electronic beats in her shows.

Belle is fresh and innovative while still celebrating her cultural heritage, pushing creative boundaries with her distinctive acoustic signature. You can expect her live acts and shows to be an acid trip on a roller coaster in the clouds at sunset.
