#Fitbit: The Tiny New #FitbitAltaHR Debuts; Introduces Improved Features & Capabilities

Okay. We’re convinced that everyone needs a Fitbit Alta HR in their lives.

Fitbit, the American company that makes activity trackers/wireless-enabled wearable technology devices first introduced the Fitbit Alta back in February 2016.

While its design is great and perfectly befitting those who are fashion/style conscious, it lacks the one thing that is important for a fitness tracker – heart rate.

Enter, the Fitbit Alta HR.

Sleep is such an interesting thing. It’s something we do every day and yet we know very little about it.

Like its predecessor, the new Fitbit Alta HR features a sleek design that makes it look very low-key. But the difference is that the Fitbit Alta HR boasts an improved battery life of up to 7 days, allowing you to track all day and night without needing a charge. On top of that, it claims to provide accurate heart rate readings, as well as more in-depth sleep tracking and insights over the previous Fitbit Alta.

The Fitbit Alta HR uses continuous, automatic wrist-based heart rate tracking with Fitbit’s PurePulse optical heart rate technology to help you make more informed decisions about your health such as calories burned, current heart rate, and resting heart rate.

Said to be “world’s slimmest fitness wristband with continuous heart rate”, it’s tiny, comfortable, and inconspicuous enough to wear to bed! And when you go to bed with your Fitbit Alta HR on your wrist, your device will help you estimate the time you spent in light, deep, and REM sleep stages (otherwise known as Sleep Stages*), as well as time awake, to better understand your sleep quality.

You can also receive Sleep Insights* and apply the guidance they provide to help increase the overall quality of your sleep. Initial insights will be education-based, but as you continue to track your sleep, they will become more personalised to you, your sleep patterns, and your activities. Pretty handy for those of us who always wake up not well rested or feel like we’re not getting the most out of our sleep 😉

Other features include all-day automatic tracking (important stats such as heart rate, steps, distances, calories burned, active minutes) and Fitbit’s SmartTrack automatic exercise tracking (when your Fitbit automatically records activities like walking, running, biking, elliptical, sports, or aerobic workouts).

Oh, and interchangeable bands, of course!

*Disclaimer: Sleep Stages and Sleep Insights will work with the Fitbit Alta HR via the Fitbit app.

Want one? The classic Fitbit Alta HR tracker comes in black, blue grey, fuchsia, or coral classic fitness wristbands with matching aluminium buckle at RM730 a pop! The Special Edition Fitbit Alta HR trackers, on the other hand. comes in a soft pink classic band with 22k rose gold plated tracker or a black classic band with matte gunmetal tracker at RM849 a pop.
