Due to the recent scorching weather, people have been trying various ways to keep themselves cool and refreshed, such as working out in the gym or even going for a quick dip in the swimming pool.

However, some methods of keeping oneself cool may be questionable and inappropriate such as this foreigner who thought it was a clever idea to take a dip in a water fountain in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. Here’s what happened:

Over the weekend, TikTok user @hafizlazin posted a video of a strange incident he witnessed outside of the Petronas Twin Towers. The video showed what appears to be a foreign woman having the time of her life splashing about in the water fountain outside of the premise where a bunch of onlookers can also be seen gathering to see the unusual sight.

“A Mermaid was on the loose at KLCC,” the netizen captioned the post. Soon after that, a police officer arrived at the scene and can be heard screaming at the joyful tourist, ordering her to get out of the fountain. She was then taken away by the officer to the other side of the road.

Despite the foreign woman causing quite a scene, netizens were actually amused by the viral TikTok post. Instead of criticising the tourist, many came up with theories as to why she decided to do what she did that evening. Some suggested that she was suffering from a heatstroke while others believed she may have been drunk.

There was one netizen who claimed to have seen the same woman dancing around at Suria KLCC before being escorted out by security. “I didn’t think she’d go for a swim after being escorted by security at the mall,” they said.

At the time of writing, there have been no statements released by authorities on the woman’s situation nor has there been any reliable info on where she might be from. Whatever the case, let’s hope she doesn’t get herself into too much trouble next time.
