While K-pop fans are always excited to see their idols at special appearances, meet-and-greet events or concerts, these occasions are not always met with satisfaction. Some events have faced heavy criticism for failing to prioritise actual fans who want to see the artists live, while others have been criticised for a lack of transparency and miscommunication.
Fortunately, this was not the case this time. As you may have heard, SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) members Joshua, DK and Dino recently made a special appearance at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for the Mister Potato x SEVENTEEN Jinjja Crunch Fan Meeting. Fans praised both the organising team and the CEO of MAMEE-Double Decker Group for how well thought-out and well-planned it was. Here’s what they had to say:

First, let’s start off with what the CEO of MAMEE-Double Decker Group, Mr Pierre Pang, had to say. He shared his thoughts on the special occasion, expressing his heartfelt gratitude not only to his team but also to CARATS (SEVENTEEN fans) for making the Mister Potato x SEVENTEEN Jinjja Crunch Fan Meeting a huge success. Mr Pang revealed that the team had learned from both their own and other organisers’ past mistakes, ensuring that this time CARATS were prioritised throughout the entire event.
The fan meeting offered more than just a chance to see the K-pop stars live on stage. It was also a carnival, with interactive activities to entertain fans who had started gathering at the mall’s entrance as early as 4am. The team collaborated with emart24 to provide snacks and drinks, keeping fans fed and hydrated throughout the day. While there were some hiccups along the way, the event ran smoothly overall, receiving largely positive feedback from CARATS.

Many fans took to Twitter to praise the Mister Potato team and Mr Pang for looking after attendees, providing transparency, and clarifying details about the event. Some even described the fan meeting as the best they had attended so far, noting that everything ran more smoothly than expected — from registration and crowd control to ensuring fans were comfortable throughout.
A few fans speculated that some of the staff members might be CARATS themselves, which could explain why they looked out for one another. Others suggested that the organising team deserved bonuses, or even a special holiday treat, in recognition of their hard work. Did you attend the recent SEVENTEEN fan meeting? What was your experience like?
