In a world where everything is a dupe – and sometimes the fake is better than the original – this Chinese singer has taken it to the next level by labelling himself as the dupe for world famous Taiwanese singer, Jay Chou (周杰伦)!
After tickets to his 26th October Kuala Lumpur show sold out, it seems Jay Chou fans who missed the singer’s ticket sales will have to settle for the next best thing. Hei Lun, a.k.a the fake Jay Chou, has just announced his show that will be held in a nightclub in Penang. Interestingly, the Penang concert will not be his only show in Malaysia as the impersonator has plans for a show in Sarawak too.
The Peace Club Penang has announced their guest appearance will be none other than Hei Lun, who will be rocking the night on 27th July. If you’re looking for something fun in Penang that week, have this in mind. However, as stated before, Penang won’t be the only place the influencer will also be performing at Lido Star in Kuching on 3rd August.
Hei Lun’s ticket prices are moderately cheap, starting at RM49 and going up to only RM179. Ironically, the more expensive tickets are further at the back. Online users have speculated the further seats are, the more expensive they get because the further you are from the stage, the more identical the influencer looks towards the real deal.

Hei Lun’s show would be a fun weekend activity to do serving as a pre-show to the highly anticipated real deal as Jay Chou will be gracing the Malaysian grounds on 26th October 2024. As real as they come, so do the prices, with Jay Chou’s tickets being significantly priced higher than Hei Lun’s, with the starting price at RM388 to the most expensive RM1138. Unfortunately, as mentioned before, the tickets have sold out and were even resold for higher prices.
As far as impersonators go, Hei Lun’s looks are arguable and undeniably uncanny to the man he’s trying to be. Would you go for this Jay Chou’s dupe show?
