Fans weren’t thrilled when Park Chan-wook’s (박찬욱) “No Other Choice (어쩔수가없다)” failed to secure a single nomination for the 2026 Academy Awards – and it looks like NEON wasn’t either. For their newest billboard, the production company shared their feelings about being snubbed.
Earlier today (11th February 2026, Wednesday), NEON shared a look at their new billboard promoting the South Korean black comedy thriller. The billboard features the iconic scene with lead actor Lee Byung-hun (이병헌) holding a plant pot above his head. However, the pot conveniently covers a portion of the sign to depict the phrase, “F Your Consideration”.

Also written on the cheeky billboard is the phrase, “A snub above the rest,” clearly highlighting NEON’s reaction to the film not being nominated for a single Academy Award. Many fans and netizens have reacted to the new advertisement, applauding the production company for their witty response to being snubbed by American film awards.
Since its release in September 2025, “No Other Choice” has received rave reviews from international critics and media, with some calling it one of Park Chan-wook’s best works to date. The film would later receive many accolades from international film festivals and award ceremonies, including nominations at the recent 2026 Golden Globe Awards.

However, the film shockingly didn’t receive any nominations for the 98th Academy Awards. Instead, “No Other Choice” was only selected as the South Korean entry for the Best International Feature Film category. Disappointed fans called the lack of nomination a blatant snub from the Academy’s part.
The lack of nomination also prompted discussion about the award ceremony’s seemingly unwillingness to recognise director Park Chan-wook’s work. Nevertheless, fans continue to show support for “No Other Choice” – and the spiteful billboard.
