Explore To Inspire Photo Contest was launched today by National Geographic Channel and Canon as part of an Asia-wide search for Asia’s best photographers.

Launched in celebration of National Geographic’s 125th anniversary, the contest which will run for two months is open to all photographers from Malaysia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. Photographers have to be at least eighteen years old as the contest is open to those aged eighteen and above.

To participate, contestants need to submit an original photograph(s) that shows the contestants inspiration to explore. Each photograph submitted will need to be accompanied by a description of three hundred characters or less on how the photograph inspires the contestants to explore. All entries are required to be submitted online through the website.

Winners stand a chance on winning fantastic prizes that includes Canon DSLR cameras, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the outstanding National Geographic Weekend Photography Workshop in San Francisco and each winning photo will be published in the March 2014 copy of the Asian Edition of National Geographic magazine.

The prizes have been selected to provide upcoming photographers with the photography tools in order to further expand and evolve their interest and skills. Winners will be selected by a panel of experts from both National Geographic Channel and Cannon.
