From ornate beadwork and ceramic tile patterns to delicate embroidery and symbolic motifs, these elements reflect a rich cultural identity shaped by generations of craftsmanship and creativity.
adidas reimagines these timeless Peranakan design codes as wearable statements for today. The Handball Spezial, a terrace icon first introduced in the 1970s, returns with heritage in motion, its classic T-toe silhouette reworked with Peranakan-inspired details, from retro jersey-inspired leather stripes to thoughtful accents that blend the sport DNA with cultural artistry.
Alongside the footwear, the collection introduces soft cotton graphic tees featuring a subtle Trefoil on the front and a bold back print inspired by Peranakan postage stamps. The artwork showcases cultural icons like the kebaya, manik shoes, tiffin carriers, and porcelain motifs, framed under “The Brand with the Three Stripes.”
Completing the line-up is a durable cotton canvas tote bag designed for everyday use. It features dual-sided graphics – the iconic Trefoil on one side and a Peranakan-inspired cabinet illustration on the other.
