It’s scary to know that your private photos and videos could potentially be leaked online without your consent. Recently, Chinese actress Hu LianXin (胡连馨) trended on Chinese social media after a leaked nude video featured a woman who resembled the young star.
According to China Press, a 20-minute long explicit video leaked on social media in the early hours of 9th May (Thursday). However, the video was quickly reported and taken down. While there are no details of the video’s content, it was reported that the woman depicted in the video bears a resemblance to 24-year-old actress Hu LianXin. Many believed that the video was a private video belonging to the star.
Following this, netizens began bombarding the star’s Weibo page with comments about the video. As it seemed to have been uploaded without her consent, many netizens urged Hu LianXin to lodge a report with the police to trace down the uploader. Others said the perpetrator should get punished for leaking the star’s private video. Some also sent messages of support for the actress, providing strength during this vulnerable time.
The issue also had netizens discussing who could access the video to post it. Many alleged that the source was Hu LianXin’s ex-boyfriend, who possibly uploaded the video out of spite for the public figure. However, some also doubted the validity of the video, questioning whether the woman was indeed the actress. Some even speculated that the video may have been a deepfake with the woman’s face digitally altered to mimic Hu LianXin’s.
As of reporting, neither Hu LianXin nor her management has released a statement regarding the video. Meanwhile, fans continue urging the star to take legal action against the leaker.
