For any entrepreneur or businessowner, seeing your store caught on fire can be devastating. Recently, El Azman, the founder of local fashion label Elrah Exclusive, took to TikTok to share the sad news that one of his stores caught fire.
According to reports, the fire happened on Friday (22nd March) afternoon at the brand’s Bandar Baru Bangi location, also known as Elrah’s Bangi headquarters, Elrah Tower. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlish Mukhtar said the fire department received a report on the incident at 2.29pm.
A team of 12 personnel rushed to the scene and managed to get the fire under control. The authorities are still seeking the cause of the fire, but Ahmad reported the cardboard boxes that were on the third floor of the building were what caused the fire to spread. Two Elrah Exclusive staff suffered breathing problems due to the fire and were rushed to Hospital Serdang for treatment.
El Azman shared his reaction to the fire, unsurprisingly devastated by the incident. In his video, he shows several moments of the incident, including when firefighters came to put out the fire. The video also showed the brand founder and several Elrah Exclusive staff entering the store while firefighters were on duty, perhaps to lend a helping hand or assess the situation. Many netizens have expressed sympathy over the incident, hoping El’s business could recover as soon as possible.
However, netizens were also suspicious about the incident, wondering if the fire was staged. Many pointed out the brand suffered a similar incident just last year, but there were no updates on the culprit. Some also wondered how El and his staff could enter the store while firefighters were on duty.
Netizens also quipped that the video looked professionally filmed as if the videographer was ready to shoot the incident. Nevertheless, we hope the company can recover from any loss caused by the fire – but what do you think about netizens’ claims?
