Whether it’s local or international, there have been countless stories of fans spotting their favourite artists in public or dining at restaurants and cafes. Normally, fans would be considerate and give space to these celebs so they can properly enjoy their free time with friends and family, even if they were sitting at a table next to them.
Now, imagine if you actually shared a table with someone famous. It sounds like a dream come true but it has actually happened to someone. Yesterday (Thursday, 25th), a netizen shared a story of how surprised they were when the person on their shared table at the Wah Kee Teochew Braised Cart Noodles restaurant was none other than Hong Kong actor Eason Chan (陈奕迅).

A story on the popular Chinese app Xiaohongshu about a fan’s encounter with the famous Hong Kong star has been going viral. According to the posts, the restaurant was packed so some customers had no choice but to share a table with others. It was said that a man in purple with a face mask on came through the door and politely sat at the same table as the customer.
It was only after he took off his face mask that the other customers found out that they were sitting with the Eason Chan. They were, of course, very surprised by the encounter as the actor was very humble and did not give off a celebrity aura when he walked in. From this experience, the fans learned that the 49-year-old is quite the eater as he scooped some noodles from his friend’s bowl after finishing his.
Netizens online commented how lucky the customers were to have sat with such a huge superstar. Others joked how a celebrity like him did not receive special treatment – getting his own table. By the looks of it, the actor did not seem to mind one bit as long as he got to enjoy his meal.

According to ChinaPress, Wah Kee Teochew Braised Cart Noodles is apparently one of his favourite places to dine. Eason visited the restaurant before, which proves his love for the food there. However, he wasn’t the only celeb to have eaten at the establishment. Actor Chow Yun-fat (周润发) even posed for a photo with one of the staff there.
Actress Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) also had a meal at the eatery. Seems like the restaurant is doing very well now that it has 3 famous customers, with one of them being a regular. How would you react if you had to share a table with a global celebrity?
