Despite leading a lowkey married life, Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) and DJ Koo’s marriage has been far from quiet. Ever since the couple announced their marriage in 2022, they have been bombarded with rumours and malicious comments from netizens and Barbie’s ex-husband, businessman Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲).
Aside from alleging that Barbie cheated on him with DJ Koo, Wang Xiaofei also claimed that the actress used his money to purchase gifts for the South Korean celeb. While Barbie vehemently denied the allegations, for the most part, DJ Koo remained quiet on the issue. However, the 54-year-old recently shared his response to the rumours surrounding him and his wife, plus the hate they’ve received since getting married.
DJ Koo, whose real name is Koo JunYup (구준엽), recently appeared in a press conference for his upcoming ‘DJ SHOW’ this May. During the press conference, the DJ was asked about his reaction to Wang Xiaofei’s recent claims against him and his wife. The singer responded, “I’ve always been emotionally stable and not easily affected (by such issues). I’ll stay by Barbie’s side and become her strength.”
He also refuted the rumours that Barbie sent him gifts before their marriage and that the actress was abusing drugs. He said, “None of them is true. I also felt aggravated and upset (about the speculations),” adding that the truth will come out and justice will prevail. The music producer also revealed that the pair have been cleared of the allegations after being investigated but said he’ll continue to endure the attacks he received from the public.
Besides answering the rumours, DJ Koo also spoke about his personal life, sharing that he lost around 10kg in the past few months. He said that Barbie has been very supportive of him, both for his weight loss journey and his upcoming performance. He also showered his wife in praise, calling her “his muse”. The singer even said, “Barbie has always been my muse goddess. As long as she smiles at me, I will gain strength.”
