Last month, the Jonas Brothers kicked off their 20th Anniversary Tour at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey. The band surprised fans with a “Camp Rock” reunion performance with former co-star Demi Lovato, delivering a medley of songs from their hit Disney Channel film the crowd.
The “Skyscraper” songstress herself even described the moment to be very healing for her, but what if we told you that the performance was more than just a surprise reunion? Apparently, it has now been confirmed that “Camp Rock 3” is currently on its way and here’s what we know so far:
Earlier today (Thursday, 18th September), Disney+ announced that the third instalment of “Camp Rock” is currently in development with the Jonas Brothers reprising their roles as the Connect 3. Alongside the announcement, the streaming platform released the confirmed cast list for the project. Fans initially expressed excitement for the sequel, as it had been 15 years since “Camp Rock 2”, but soon noticed that Demi Lovato was not included in the cast announcement.
This prompted many to question whether she would make an appearance or be involved in the upcoming film in another way. Not only that, but Alyson Stoner, another prominent star from the earlier films, was also absent from the announcement. Many fans took to Twitter and Instagram to express their disappointment, believing that Demi Lovato and other fan favourites would not be returning to the project.

Others, however, remained hopeful that Demi might at least make a cameo, particularly as Maria Canals-Barrera is set to reprise her role as the main character’s mother. While not officially confirmed, some have speculated that the pop star could be involved as a producer, working behind the scenes to ensure the story moves forward and delivers a strong film for fans. This speculation arose because the actress was actually tagged in the official announcement post, and she shared the news on Instagram Stories, so it can be safely assumed that she will be involved in the project in some way.
We personally hope that Demi Lovato will reprise her role as the beloved Mitchie Torres, as “Camp Rock” was the project that first propelled her to stardom. Are you excited for “Camp Rock 3”? Who else do you want to see return for the sequel?
