Popular businesswoman and celebrity Dato Seri Vida first made her name through a beauty product with an interesting marketing slogan. After years of hard work on her business, she is finally enjoying the sweet life of being rich. Videos of her travelling with her kids and flaunting her wealth are among the more popular social media posts in Malaysia.
Despite her status as a rich entrepreneur, netizens were shocked to learn that her property was recently seized by the Kuala Lumpur High Court. This was due to the public figure failing to pay a debt of RM1,060,285 to subcontractors back in 2018. The confiscation occurred when Dato Seri Vida was away in China.

According to media reports, the High Court issued its judgement on 29th October 2023, calling for Dato Seri Vida to settle her debt. The debt arose from construction work to renovate her factory into the Vida All Star Studio at Elite Industrial Park, Seksyen 33, Shah Alam. The foreclosure occurred after the subcontractor’s repeated attempts to resolve the matter went unanswered. Items seized included two Toyota Vellfires, a Toyota Grand Hiace, a BMW X7, and various belongings from her house in Ipoh, Perak, which were sealed on Monday.
In response to the situation, the entrepreneur took to her Instagram to clarify the matter, assuring her followers that she is taking the issue seriously and would give it the full attention it requires. She shared that she had already appointed a lawyer to provide legal advice and help her navigate the process in the best way possible, while adhering to the law. She emphasised her commitment to resolving the matter. According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, Samir Zainal, the seized assets could be reclaimed if Dato Seri Vida settles the debt before the auction date, which has been set for 9th December 2024.
Prior to the controversy, her daughter, influencer Cik B, had posted on Instagram a request for money from her mother. Dato Seri Vida reportedly gave her RM70,000 in pocket money and a Christian Dior bag, sparking mixed reactions. While news of her unpaid debt has since gone viral, it is advisable for Malaysians to refrain from spreading negativity and allow the public figure to resolve the matter legally and privately.
