American-born Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu (吴彦祖) has been living a peaceful life in the United States with his supermodel wife, Lisa and 10-year-old daughter Raven. However, despite his distance from the Hong Kong movie scene, netizens haven’t quite forgotten about him.
Early last month, Daniel Wu and his family were seen attending the 66th American Grammy Awards. Photos from the event have already made their rounds, but one family photo in particular was recently re-circulated. As it turns out, netizens had been scrutinising said photo and claimed they found one person resembling Andy Lau!
It’s the first in a while that Daniel Wu and his family have reappeared in front of the camera. While most netizens were simply amazed by how much they’ve changed, a few other netizens apparently had a different realisation about their appearances, or in particular, Raven’s looks.
At a glance, Raven Wu shares looks from both her mom and her dad and looks fairly pretty. But, netizens apparently disagreed. Several slammed her appearance, claiming she looked “bad”, and poked fun at her features. One or two opined that would change during puberty. “She will be beautiful in a few years,” one said. Another claimed: “The most important thing is that she has good facial features.”
However, a few netizens had a very different opinion about Raven’s appearance. Apparently, according to them, Raven reminded them of legendary Hong Kong actor Andy Lau (刘德华). “I thought (Daniel’s) daughter was being replaced by Andy Lau as a prank,” one said. A few shared that Raven reminded them of Andy’s looks in “Running Out of Time (暗战)” where he had cross-dressed for the role.
Well, perhaps Andy Lau will be flattered by the comparisons between him and Daniel Wu’s daughter. On the other hand, we sincerely hope Raven doesn’t take the comments to heart, after all, as the saying goes, “it’s what’s on the inside that counts”.
