An elderly man decided to end his life in his home in New Delhi, India, shortly after discovering his wife had tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Sin Chew Daily, a family member shared that he felt overwhelmed by the news and couldn’t cope with the stress. Was the medical bills an issue? Was he afraid that he’d contract the disease?
The family member said that the wife had been feeling unwell for quite some time. After showing symptoms, she was taken to a hospital to undergo the test. The results came back positive a few days later.
“He went straight to his room right after he came home without a word. He was really worried about his wife,” the family member was quoted as saying. It was also reported that the deceased did not leave any suicide note behind.
His body was found in his room the following morning.
