Concert Review: An Electrifying Night At DJ Blink’s First Ever Solo Concert

After an unforgettable set at Heineken Refresh, Malaysian DJ Blink (real name is Lau Hoe Yin), took the stage for his very first concert, titled “First Love”. Despite some minor hiccups, he delivered an electrifying performance that left fans buzzing. Held at Zepp KL, the night was a special one for the crowd, as they witnessed the renowned DJ in an entirely new light.

One of the standout moments of the night was when  special guests 3P and Priscilla Abby opened the show and set the energy to welcome the talented DJ on stage. The energy soared even higher with a special appearance by singer-songwriter Uriah, who performed a captivating duet with Priscilla.

Remarkably, the song had been completed just two days prior to the concert. The collaborations added a fresh dynamic to the show, with 3P’s energy and Priscilla’s smooth vocals blending perfectly with Uriah and Blink’s hard-hitting beats. The audience could feel the camaraderie and chemistry between the artists, making the performances even more memorable.

Malaysian DJ Blink wowed the crowd with a mix of his iconic remixes from artists like Blackpink, Sabrina Carpenter, and Travis Scott, while also reviving classic hits and debuting his latest tracks. The audience matched the energy with their enthusiasm and excitement singing and dancing along.

The concert, however, wasn’t without its challenges. At one point, there was an audio glitch, momentarily halting the music. But Blink didn’t let that stop him. Showing his professionalism, he handled the situation like a pro, engaging the crowd with a casual chat, taking a picture with the crowd and sharing his rare and raw emotions about his personal mental health and how he overcame it.

In a delightful twist, Blink spoke in Chinese—though he admitted he wasn’t fluent and was still learning. The talented DJ also decided to bless his fans with his amazing vocals towards the end of the concert.

For a first-time solo concert, Blink’s show was raw, real, and undeniably fun. Fans not only got to see the DJ’s talent behind the decks but also his personality and willingness to connect with his audience. It was truly an unforgettable night, and we can’t wait for the talented Malaysian DJ to host even more electrifying concerts!
