CNY In The Sky? Head To Resorts World Genting For Lunar New Year Magic!

As the Year of the Tiger roars to a close, Resorts World Genting (RWG) comes alive with an abundance of activities and attractions to usher in the Year of the Rabbit!

Blossoms of Prosperity

Get ready to bask in festive grandeur as RWG’s iconic venues – Kimhua Atrium, Gohtong Jaya Baru, Skytropolis, Central Park and Madison Square – are transformed into magnificent festive spaces and walkways, bedecked with traditional red lanterns, fairy lights and a profusion of cherry blossom trees. Pose for pictures with Instagram-worthy art installations such as the adorable moonbunny characters at Kimhua Atrium; and the towering 9-meter-tall golden tree, which takes centrestage at Madison Square.

Festive Walkabout At RWG And A Snowy New Year

Join the rabbit-themed procession at Gohtong Walk, a charming 1.28km festive route that will take you to eight iconic spots – from SkyAvenue Gateway to SkySymphony, Gohtong Jaya Baru, Skytropolis, Kimhua Atrium, Arena of Stars, Madison Square and Central Park – for a comprehensive tour of the main Chinese New Year attractions. For an experience similar to a snowy Lunar New Year in Beijing, stop over at Central Park to catch the snowflakes drifting lazily from above the rooftops, an experience that has to-date enthralled over 300,000 visitors.

Flower Market

Indulge in a spot of festive shopping at RWG’s annual Chinese New Year Flower Market 2023 at the Transportation Hub next to Crockfords Hotel from 10am till 10pm until 18 January. A colourful bazaar not to be missed, patrons of the market can look forward to a delightful assortment of auspicious blooms and brightly-coloured plants; charming rabbit plushies; and festive goodies including sweet mandarin oranges, dried oysters and scallops, abalone, birds’ nest, bak kwa, a variety of cookies, sweets and nuts, and pre-packed gift baskets for friends and family.

RWG is also giving away FREE biscuits/cookies to the first 30 customers every day with no minimum purchase! Guests with a minimum purchase of RM300 and above will be entitled to a lucky draw, FREE calligraphy or a FREE premium angpow pack. Those who purchase a minimum of RM200 in a single receipt will receive a can of abalone or a Mandarin oranges gift pack for only RM1.00! These promotional items are given away on a first-come-first-served basis and only whilst stocks last!

Auspicious Feasts

What’s a celebration without delicious food? RWG invites you to savour extravagant festive menus that would tempt the most discerning palates. Say adieu to the Year of the Tiger with friends and colleagues with special Sau Kong Cau set menus from RM1,688 nett for a table of 10 at Genting Palace from now till 20 January 2023. Delectable Lo Hei sets of jelly fish, salmon and abalone are also available from RM108 nett at Genting Palace, which is located at Highlands Hotel and Seasons, which is located at Genting Grand from now till 5 February 2023.

Indulge in festive, special set and a’ la carte menus of Alaskan crab with mango salad, braised scallop and seafood soup with black truffle and crab roe, Mongolian charbroiled pork ribs and double-boiled bird’s nest soup with American ginseng for lunch or dinner at Genting Palace from 21 January till 5 February. Seasons is offering nourishing double-boiled baby abalone and dried scallop in chicken soup and stir-fried Iberico pork tenderloin as festive specials.

If you love delicious broths with your meals, try Genting Garden Hotpot’s dinner sets from RM599 (4 pax) from 21 January till 5 February. There will also be festive lunch and dinner buffets at The Food Factory from 22 till 31 January. For light bites at Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, try Vila Festa’s Huat Burger (RM20), Buck’s Café’s Mini Yee Sang Shake (RM18) and EXO’s Monk Jump Over the Wall Soup (RM32).

With impressive sound systems, dazzling lights and ultra-talented performers, the Arena of Stars will be a hub of fabulous festive entertainment featuring mesmerizing performances from Frhythms Percussion, an eight-piece Chinese Drums extravaganza, to spectacular Chinese New Year dance shows and acrobatic Lion Dance performances by the Defending Champion of World Lion Dance Championship – Kun Seng Keng Lion and Dragon Dance Association, Muar, Johor from 22 to 25 January 2023; and National Champion – Khuan Loke Lion Dance from Selangor from 26 to 29 January 2023 at regular intervals – 3pm, 6pm and 8pm. Come pose for pictures and engage with our lovable mascots in an auspicious Chinese New Year-themed setting at Skytropolis from now till 5 February 2023, every Wednesday through Sunday.
