#Christmas: A Perfect Tea Break With Santa Claus At These Bakery Cafés

Christmas songs? Check. Christmas movies (or even the holiday-themed horror movies)? Check. Cocktails for Christmas party? Check. A perfect Christmas gift for your loved ones? Check. But what about milk and cookies for Santa Claus? Well, after all these years of delivering gifts to the homes of good children, he may be getting a little sick of the ordinary cookies he receives in return.

Since Santa Claus is coming to town very soon, we thought he might want to try something new by visiting some bakery cafes that serve their own versions of “milk and cookies” for Santa this Christmas. It’s fairly easy to figure out his schedule when most of the bakery cafes in town are warming up to the festive season with some great alternative snacks for Santa Claus and of course, for us.

If you’d like to, go have yourself a merry little Christmas with Santa Claus at these bakery cafes! 🙂

1. Wondermilk

Wondermilk Snowy Cupcakes for Christmas

Wondermilk Café has always been known for its desserts and beverages, especially its speciality drink of the same name (flavoured fresh milk with choices such as butterscotch, caramel and vanilla). The café has been around since 2000 and it has evolved from working solely on graphic design to championing the unique cupcakes phenomenon in Klang Valley labeled as “Cuppacakes”.

The cupcakes clearly became the main attraction at Wondermilk café and the store will only bake customised version of cupcakes if you place your order in advance. This is because the owner has to make sure the quality is retained when they bake the customised versions of cupcakes. There are 36 pieces of cupcakes in the Petite Size box and 25 pieces in the Maxi Size. For the Christmas speacial, the Snowy set is priced at RM250 with 25 pieces of cupcakes contained in a box. The size is approximately 2” in diameter. There are various flavours to choose from, including Royal Vanilla, Choc Chip, Strawberry Dream, Coffee Circus, Mint Choc Chip, and Amazin Raisin. Visit Wondermilk’s website for more order information.

2. Dreamz Bakery

Dreamz Bakery - Little Deer Almond Cookies

Dreamz Bakery is a hidden gem as the café is located at the second floor of the shop lots in The Strands, Kota Damansara. However, since it has been discovered, patrons keep coming back for more desserts at Dreamz Bakery. It may be a little small but the café specialises in artisanal cakes & deserts.

Celebrate The Season With Swatch: Holiday Watches For Every Party Vibe!

This Christmas, the owner of Dreamz Bakery has taken the opportunity to bake more cookies for patrons to take home as Christmas gifts. A bag of the cookies is priced at RM9.90 and there are 6 pieces of cookies in the bag. What amazed us the most is its shoe-shaped Christmas cake with cute decorations. The cake is priced at RM45 for 300g and RM85 for a half kg. There are 3 flavours to choose from and they are Japanese Cheese, Red Velvet and the classic one, Chocolate. Orders can be made beforehand so that the owner can bake it before collection.

3. Komugi Cafe

Komugi Cafe Baum Christmas Tree with Mixed Fruits

Komugi café is a sweet tooth’s heaven and this time around, the café has decided to celebrate this special occasion with a wide selection of Christmas special pastries including cookies, ginger brea man house, log cakes, macarons, and most importantly, Baumkuchen.

The café focuses more on Baumkuchen, Europe’s traditional pastry that is popular in Japan. The name Baumkuchen means “tree cake” and it is a ring-shaped cake that shows a growth ring when sliced. It came as no surprise to us that Komugi would want to include the Baum cake in the menu because of the way it looks.

As compared to other bakery cafés, Bisou Bake Shop keeps the decorations as minimal as possible for patrons who prefer the classic Christmas cake with a twist. The Christmas cake is a red velvet cake with a smooth layer of cream in gold and it is available in 2 sizes: 1.5kg or 2.1kg.

Bisou also offers other Christmas treats that is sprinkled with cinnamon powder such as the cinnamon sugar cupcake and cinnamon star cookies. The Christmas special treats at Bisou Bake Shop is further completed with the gingerbread man cookies.

To further enhance the dining experience, ABC has come up with a Christmas menu that includes some new dishes that would remind patrons of delicious home-cooked Christmas food and feel right at home.

Frisky Goat - Avalanche

Other than the baked eggs, Frisky Goat is also known for its waffles that may have contributed to the waffles frenzy in Klang Valley. The bakery café has decided to usher in Christmas by placing a gingerbread man on its signature waffle. The waffle, named “Avalanche”, is included in the café’s December Specials menu and it is decorated with caramelised apples, spiced walnuts, ice cream, chantilly cream, and salted caramel sauce.

So far, the waffle is the only December Specials at Frisky Goat but we’re guessing that you can expect to see more in the menu before Christmas Day.

7. Levain Boulangerie Patisserie

Levain Christmas Cakes

Tucked away in the quiet streets off Jalan Imbi, Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie is a perfect hideout from the bustling city with some warm and freshly baked breads or pastries. The French-style bakery café is a lovely café where you can enjoy a quiet moment with its scrumptious main courses or alluring desserts. Using only natural yeast, the cafe differs itself from other bakeries by baking breads and pastries in a traditional stone oven. Thus, the breads and pastries are uniquely flavoured with smooth texture.

On the 12th day of Christmas, the bakery café will begin celebrating the festive season with its Christmas-themed cakes. The cakes are reasonably priced between RM42 to RM70. As shown in the poster, the cakes are available until the actual day of Christmas only.

Tedboy Christmas Yule Log Cake

Owners of Tedboy Bakery named the café after their first-born so that it allows them to do everything with their child in mind. The owners revealed on the website that only the best items that have been tried and tested will make it to the shelves. Hence, the bread and pastries are baked daily at Tedboy’s humble kitchen uses only the freshest and all-natural ingredients.

Since Christmas is fast approaching, Tedboy Bakery went down the ordinary path by preparing some traditional desserts for its patrons. To welcome the New Year and relive the air of this year’s events, families and friends can gather around to enjoy their personalised Yule log cakes. Most of the Yule log cakes are priced at RM70 while the smaller one is reasonably priced at RM12.90. Tedboy Bakery has also baked a huge gingerbread house but it is only priced at RM49.
