It’s shocking to learn about the death of someone famous, especially when they pass at a young age. Recently, Chinese news outlets reported on the sudden death of an influencer who died at the age of 32.
Yunnan Agui (transliteration of 云南阿奎) was an influencer from the Chinese province of Yunnan. He’s best known for his comedy videos and videos introducing Yunnan culture. During a live stream on 6th October (Sunday), the influencer complained of dizziness and a headache. He subsequently stopped the broadcast to seek medical attention.
His staff then took him to a nearby hospital, where his condition worsened. Yunnan Agui was then diagnosed with a sudden cerebral haemorrhage and transferred to an intensive care unit. He underwent a craniotomy, where doctors discovered the influencer had a brain stem haemorrhage which ruptured into the ventricular system. He also had brain herniation and central respiratory and circulatory failure.
The 32-year-old remained in the ICU for eight more days until his death on 14th October (Monday). His team confirmed the news, saying he passed away after succumbing to his illness. However, they also revealed that before the hospital visit, Yunnan Agui had high blood pressure and often stayed up late to do live broadcasts. While it’s unsure whether his prior condition had caused the cerebral haemorrhage, news reports suggest a significant correlation.
Yunnan Agui left behind his wife, Tang San Mei, and four children, including a pair of twins only a few months old. Tang San Mei is also an influencer, and the couple founded a media company with many fellow influencers. Adding to the devastation of Yunnan Agui’s death is that his wife had recently celebrated her birthday a few days ago.
