There have been a lot of celebrity couples divorcing this year. Earlier this month, influencer couple Jofliam and Cik Epal announced their separation after Jofliam was embroiled in significant controversies involving a staff member. Prior to that, the topic surrounding Fazura and Fattah Amin‘s relationship has been trending since announcing their dissolution.
It appears that another celebrity couple has joined the list. It was reported yesterday (Tuesday, 15th October) that famous chef Dato Fazley Yaakob and his wife Azrene Ahmad had finalised their divorce recently. Here’s the story:
Rumours and speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage have been prevalent for some time, particularly as they have not been seen together recently. The 46-year-old confirmed in a statement that they had parted ways a few months ago and that his now ex-wife had just completed her iddah period. “The decision to divorce was mutual after 18 years of being married and I myself have filed for divorce. Hopefully, with this announcement, there will be no more confusion about our relationship after this,” he said.
The father-of-four clarified that, although he and Azrene are no longer married, they remain close and that their relationship is just as good as when they first met. Regarding custody of the children, it has been reported that both parents have agreed to joint custody. “The kids have nothing against our current relationship. Everything else is basically the same. The only difference is that we’re no longer married but that doesn’t mean the children have to suffer. Thankfully, they’re very understanding and respect our decision,” the chef told reporters.
Meanwhile, Azrene Soraya did not issue a statement regarding the divorce; however, she recently posted a video of the whole family celebrating her daughter Ellie’s seventh birthday, in which she also tagged her ex-husband, Fazley. It’s good to see that the former couple bear no ill will towards each other and maintain a positive relationship for the sake of their family.
