British singer-songwriter Cavetown (Robin Daniel Skinner) is stepping into a bold new era with his upcoming album Running With Scissors. On 16th January 2026, he’ll drop his new album Running With Scissors—and to build the hype, he’s also unleashed a brand-new single, “Tarmac” (co-written with Orla Gartland), and announced an international headlining tour spanning Asia, Australia, and Europe.

After delighting fans with “Rainbow Gal” and “Baby Spoon,” “Tarmac” leans further into Cavetown’s artistic evolution—weaving indie pop foundations with grunge riffs, vocal layers, and adventurous sonic detours. The lyrics dig into love’s fragility: the push-pull of wanting forever, fear of loss, and those spiraling thoughts that haunt when you try to hold on.
Cavetown recently joined Pierce The Veil on their European arena trip, and at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, Vic Fuentes even joined him on stage for a surprise rendition of “a kind thing to do” (their collab from worm food). Now, he’s ready to take the stage as the headliner.
What’s Running With Scissors All About?
If Cavetown’s earlier music was a comforting bedroom sanctuary, Running With Scissors is a brave step into the world outside. Across the album, Robin explores love, identity, masculinity, and vulnerability, while confronting heavier truths—anxiety, self-doubt, and the process of self-parenting. It’s a deeply human reflection on growing up, learning, and rediscovering yourself.
Fans can also get their hands on limited physical editions, including a black-and-blue cornetto vinyl with a “Baby Spoon” flexidisc (available via his official store) and a blue-and-black splatter vinyl from Rough Trade.
