It’s apparent that sales has not been good for many businesses facing boycott from Malaysia – Starbucks being one of them. Still, the F&B franchise has been doing all it can to attract more customers with ongoing promos.
For the past few weeks, Starbucks Malaysia has been promoting the Buy 1 Free 1 promotion – which is usually a hot favourite among coffee addicts and casual drinkers alike. However, for this weekend, Starbucks upping the ante.
Get this: the latest promo is offering a free Venti-sized beverage with a purchase of a small Grande-sized beverage. Is there any catch to it? Apparently no, cause the Terms and Conditions states that this Buy 1 Free 1 offer is applicable to any handcrafted beverage. Understandably, this promo is valid with other ongoing promos and discounts.
Funnily enough, this promo poster wasn’t uploaded on their Facebook page – likely to avoid cynical comments from keyboard warriors. The comments section on Starbucks Malaysia’s Instagram account has also been disabled. Similarly, their Facebook page has also restricted who can comment on their post. Despite the frequent Buy 1 Free 1 promos, many Malaysians are still adamant to boycott Starbucks.
